Live Kirtan & Community Chanting

Group of people smiling, sitting and standing with hands raised in a room, possibly at a workshop or gathering.

Kirtan in community

I offer kirtan in yoga studios, small groups, and community spaces when invited. These gatherings aren’t performances. They’re participatory, accessible, and shaped by whoever shows up. People sing, listen, rest, or sit quietly — all of it belongs.

I bring a harmonium, my voice, and a simple rhythm. I try to hold the space in a way that’s welcoming and grounded, especially for people who are new to chanting or unsure what to expect.

I don’t aim to lead people anywhere — just to create a container where practice can unfold.

My relationship to practice

A man with a beard singing passionately into a microphone, seated in front of a harmonium or similar keyboard instrument, in a dimly lit room.

I didn’t come to spiritual practice because I had answers.
I came because I didn’t know how to live very well inside myself.

Chanting, writing, and sitting with things have become ways I stay close to what’s real. Not ways to fix myself or transcend anything — just ways of paying attention. Some days it feels steady. Other days it falls apart. Both seem to be part of it.

Most of what I work with comes through translation, tradition, and other people’s careful efforts to point toward something meaningful. I hold that with respect, but also with humility. I’m not trying to arrive anywhere. I’m learning as I go, and this is me practicing out loud.

A joyful man with a beard and bald head, wearing a red shirt, happily performing on a harmonium with a microphone. He is surrounded by a bright, golden aura with musical notes, incense, and Hindu prayer beads, celebrating a festive occasion called 'Happy Kirtan'.
